Enhancing building security was top priority for brand spanking new Boone facility

In a post-9-11 world, designing secure buildings to guard and serve those sworn to safeguard and serve has got very complicated and costly. ….Security actually begins away from building, where cameras record who enters what door possibly at what time, while a gated parking area makes sure that only authorized employees' cars park inside the walled lot adjoining the building. Such perimeter security considerations are primary inside the minds of architects when coming up with critical infrastructure buildings like police departments.

"Every law enforcement agency is concerned about threats and as being a target," said Barbara A.
